My research interests broadly involve the nature of parent-child interactions. My hope is that, by better understanding these processes, we can promote functioning in families that are experiencing problems. In particular, I am focusing on the role of maternal executive functions like working memory and inhibitory control, as well as transient emotions like anger, and how these can influence parenting decisions. I am also interested in parent-centered interventions for children and families, and the range of beneficial effects they can have on parent, child, and family functioning.
