We are currently conducting two studies in our lab:
- The Parent and Child Attributions Study examines how parents and children think about their own and each other’s behaviours, how these thoughts are related, and how they are associated with behaviour in the family. This study is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
This study involves mothers, fathers, and children aged 9-12. Children and mothers will visit the UBC Parenting lab to answer questionnaires and complete video-taped interactions together. Fathers will have the option of completing questionnaires from home or at the lab.
Mothers will receive $35.00 for their participation after their lab visit.
Fathers will receive $25.00 for their participant after their completed questionnaires have been received.
Children will receive a UBC T-Shirt and small prizes after their lab visit.
The visit will take about 2.5 hours. Appointments are scheduled for families to come to the UBC Parenting Lab at a time convenient to them.
- The ADHD Parents Study examines parenting and parent-child relationships in families with and without members with ADHD symptoms. This study is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
This study involves mothers, fathers, and boys aged 6-12. Both parents and child will visit the UBC Parenting lab to answer questionnaires and complete video-taped interactions together.
Families will receive $75.00 for their participation after their lab visit.
Children will receive a UBC T-Shirt and small prizes after their lab visit.
